XO Heritage Bistro Filipino is located in Salcedo Village, Makati City. The exact address is: 130 Valero Street., Valero, Makati, Metro Manila, just walking distance from RCBC Plaza. The restaurant isn’t immediately noticeable if you just happen to be walking by the street, since it’s mixed with the offices in the area. It’s different at night, though, when the restaurant’s entrance facade and signage is lit up.

One peculiar thing about this place is the staff is trained to speak to the guests only in Filipino (unless if you’re a foreigner or preferred otherwise), also the menu is in Tagalog (with English translations, too).

After ordering, we were given complimentary cornbits (or chichakorn), then homemade ‘puto’ served with butter and ‘kahel’ (an orange colored dip which my teammates said is made of crabfat- ‘aligue’- mixed with butter) for dipping- both  tastes delicious. The mini putos tastes great as well.

For our appetizer, we had Empanadang Bilbao Ala Vigan and it was DELICIOUS! It’s a bit costly though, 4 pieces at 435php. It would be fine if there would be a group of 4 dining, and (also) the rest of the meal would be perfect for sharing.

For our main course, we had rice: Tinapa Rice, Aligue Rice, Bagoong Rice

most of us preferred the Tinapa rice. If you like it a bit salty- go for the bagoong rice.

ULAM

Crispy Binagoongan, Sinigang na Salmon sa Mustasa, Adobong Batangas sa Atsuete, Bicol Express, Kinilaw na Tanigue sa Dayap, PInakbet ng Laoag

Sinigang na Salmon sa Mustasa

Masarap lahat! But one dish is a stand-out for me, it’s the Crispy Binagoongan!

Our drinks:  Sagot’ Gulaman, Kinalog na Dalandan na may Damong Ligaw, Kinalog na hilaw na mangga (green mango shake)

for dessert, most of us just had coffee and some of us tried the Malaubeng Panaginip. They also gave us free chocnuts towards the end of our meal 🙂

None of the desserts were a stand-out. The one I wanted to order (Mango Con Broas Mabuhay) is not available.  And I’m looking forward to having that in the near future.

My verdict, so far. XO Heritage Bistro Filipino is, so far- the best tasting Filipino Restaurant I have dined in. I highly recomment for people to try this restaurant. I’ll definitely come back here to bring my friends and family.
