* Last weekend, a few friends and I decided that we try out this new chicken place in San Antonio Village, Makati called Frangos.*
I have been hearing rave reviews about Frangos and since we live quite close to the area, we finally got the chance to try it.
I have read in some reviews that it is quite hard to get a seat sometimes- especially during weekends. I was expecting that scenario, and it was a sunday when we came at Frangos, but we were the 1st customer on our visit and maybe because of the typhoon signal raised during the weekend~ there wasn’t a lot of people dining. In fact, I only saw one other customer, great!
Upon entering the restaurant, one is greeted with loud music in the back ground. While this is just okay for some people, it could be annoying to someone who wants a more laid back, quiet place to eat.
They have wooden chairs and tables (which we loved) and the place~ all-in-all, gives out a cool & positive vibe. Almost immediately, somebody attended to us and gave each of us the menu list.
They have a very compact menu, making it pretty easy to order. Their specialty is freshly-grilled Portuguese style piri-piri chicken- which you can order whole, half or quarter sized. Since there were four of us, we opted for the whole chicken, plain rice for each, and an extra serving of Mango salsa.
The chicken itself tastes good, just rightly cooked/grilled. My friends loved the mango salsa. Each order of the chicken comes with 3 sauces already: chili, peri-peri and the green one (which I’ve read somewhere is avocado-based) and a serving of mango salsa. While they are all good, my taste buds craved for something else~ like gravy perhaps? It would be nice to have that option too, just in case a customer wants one. Overall, the chicken dish was a winner.
