Escolta is the name of the restaurant within Manila Peninsula hotel, located in Makati. And for this year’s Valentine’s Day celebration, we decided to have a staycation at the Peninsula hotel, and this means getting to try Escolta’s breakfast buffet offering.
The highlights of the breakfast buffet in Escolta for me are the pastries and the bacon. The bread and the pastries on their pastry rack tastes as if you bought them from a high-end pastry or doughnut shop. The bacon is honey-cured (a favorite variety of mine!), though I am not sure if that’s just for the time we were there (other hotels usually have plain or smoked bacon as their staple flavor). They also have staple Filipino breakfast dish like longganisa, tocino, tinapa, luncheon meat and corned beef. They also offer rice (of course!) and baby potatoes for the much craved breakfast carbs.
What I love also about Escolta’s buffet is they don’t make you pay extra for their Juice bar. They also offer flavored or infused water (and there is quite a variety of them) such as the “dragonfruit, pineapple, honeydew infused water” & “lemon-ginger infused water”.
In a nutshell- for breakfast lovers, this is a MUST TRY. Everything is DELICIOUS. Being a big breakfast fan- this is the best breakfast buffet I’ve tried so far. The best thing was the bacon and the pastries! it’s Y-U-M-M-Y. They offer a variety of meat viands- both foreign and local (meatloaf, bacon, sausages & stew) , waffle and pancakes, fruits, pastries and yogurt.
